Helene McCarthy, former Li-Ming Chinese Academy Chinese painting teacher for many years, passed away on Saturday 1/13/2018 at SUBURBAN Hospital. Born on 1/20/1938, Mrs. McCarthy is a Chinese painting master and active participant in the Chinese community of the greater Washington DC area. The memorial service will be held this Saturday 1/20/2018 10 am at Robert A. Pumphrey Funeral Home — 7557 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814, 301-652-2200. Mrs. McCarthy will be laid to rest at the Arlington National Cemetery, next to her husband Richard McCarthy.
