The Li-Ming Chinese Academy Admission Information Session<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Li-Ming Chinese Academy (LMCA) will begin accepting new student admission for the 2026 Fall Semester on 3\/1\/26<\/strong>. For the parents of new students, please feel free to reach out to Janey Hsiao at registration@li-ming.org for any questions you might have before submitting the admission request. The registration will end on 5\/23\/26<\/strong>\u00a0(mailed registrations must be postmarked by that date).<\/p>\n

There will be interviews and a testing process held on [date TBD]. Pre-schoolers ages 3 to 5 will be interviewed (accompanied by their parents) to determine their placement. Children ages 6 and above (1st grade to 12th grade) will take language tests.<\/span><\/p>\n

LMCA\u2019s language classes are held from 10 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. every Sunday during the semesters. There are various choices of extracurricular cultural and sports activities in the afternoons from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

LMCA\u2019s language instructional program adopts the “communicative approach” for second language learners. The School teaches the Mandarin pronunciation in listening and speaking, the traditional Chinese characters in reading and writing, and uses the Chinese phonetics as an aid. All learning modules center on students’ experience and are developed for each grade level appropriate to students’ age and language background.<\/span><\/p>\n

LMCA\u2019s language instructional program enables the students to learn functional language in realistic situations. In addition, cultural identity, Chinese input using the Pinyin method, Chinese essay writing, Chinese speech skills, and Chinese history and culture are also important learning objectives. Under the principles listed above, we strive to offer a complete Chinese education to next generation overseas Chinese.<\/span><\/p>\n
